STOP cutting your marketing to save a few £££'s
We know it's difficult times right now, sales are really, really slow and you're fighting for limited listings but now is absolutely the wrong time to cut back on your marketing.
Recently we've been contacted directly by home sellers who we've helped to market with photography, videography etc and who for whatever reason are changing agent or re-listing.
On each occasion they're asking for their original marketing material because the photos, videos etc from their new agent are poor.
This has happened so much recently we've investigated further and discovered agents who are usually renowned for their marketing, and who have developed a positive reputation over many, many years are producing poor quality marketing and at times increasing their up-front fees too!
The result;
unhappy customers before they even reach the market
hard earned brand reputation being severely damaged
property listings that present disappointingly and don't stand out
listings that do not deliver to expectation
The solution is to remain on brand, believe in the reputation you've developed and know that standing out from your competition will always be one of the most important marketing strategies you can implement.
We acknowledge that you may be looking around at your costs right now and your marketing might seem an easy place to begin trimming but think twice before you make any decisions.
Whilst all Estate Agents are finding sales really difficult to achieve right now, history tells us things will change, and when that change comes the agents, like the ones we're currently working with, who have remained focussed on attracting listings will be the ones to recover fastest and strongest.
So by all means use this period to review your marketing but make sure you're doing all the basics, that often cost very little to implement, right first.
We generally support the use of up-front fees for marketing as we work with agents to implement them as a very positive selling point which underscores the quality of their service. They're not always appropriate for every sector of the market however but you can bet that if you're not delivering the quality that your reputation, brand and /or fees suggest, you'll be doing serious damage to to your business.
